CTET Exam is conducted in 2 stages – Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for applicants who hope to become a teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become a teacher for Class VI to VIII.

Paper I and Paper II possess Objective Multiple Choice Questions. CTET Syllabus 2019 is very lengthy. It mainly revolves around Child Development & Pedagogy and concept of education in schools. Language is one part that all candidates need to master to decode CTET 2019. Additionally, Mathematics & Science/Environmental Science are also major sections that a candidate should prepare completely to expert CTET 2019 Exam.

CTET Syllabus: Paper I (For Classes I-IV)

A) Child Development (Primary School Child): 15 Questions

• Influence of Heredity & Environment

• Reading unseen passages — just two passages one prose or drama and a single poem with questions on comprehension, inference, grammar and verbal ability (Prose passing may be literary, scientific, narrative or discursive)

B) Pedagogy of Language Development: 15 Questions

• Learning and acquisition

• Basics of speech Teaching

• Role of listening and talking; function of language and how children use it as a tool

• Vital perspective about the role of grammar in learning a language for communicating thoughts verbally and in written form

• Challenges of teaching speech at a diverse classroom; speech issues, errors and disorders Language Skills
