Active and Passive Voice Exercises for Class 10 CBSE Definition: Voice refers to the form of the verb that indicates whether the doer of an action is the subject or the object or in other words, whether the subject of a sentence performs the action (active voice) or is affected by it (The passive voice) so, the sentence can be expressed either in the active voice or in passive voice is called active and passive voice.

 

Active and Passive Voice Exercises for Class 10 CBSE  In active voice, since the subject is an active agent, the ‘verb’ should be in accordance with the ‘subject’. When the subject is a passive undergoes (or receiver) of the action and the object is of more importance and ‘he sentence begins with it, the verb is said to be in Passive voice.

Active and Passive Voice Meaning In Hindi
Active and Passive Voice का हिन्दी meaning कर्तृवाच्य और कर्मवाच्य होता है। कर्तृवाच्य मे कर्ता Active होता है अर्थात् कर्ता पर बल दिया जाता है जबकी कर्मवाच्य में कर्म अर्थात् object पर जोर दिया जाता है।

बातचीत करने वाले को इन दोनों वाक्यों में से किसी एक को अपनाना पड़ता है। अब प्रश्न उठेगा कौन सा वाक्य तो ये बात तो बड़ी साधारण है जैसा भाव हो वैसी ही वाक्य लगाओ। यदि आप कर्ता पर जोर डाल रहे हैं तो Active Voice लीजिए और यदि कर्म पर जोर पड़े तो Passive Voice ही लीजिए।

Active and Passive Voice
अभी तक आपने जो वाक्य पढ़े हैं, उनमें कर्त्ता द्वारा कार्य किया जाता है। कर्त्ता Active होता है जैसे:-

(a) वह कार ठीक कर रहा है।
He is repairing the car.

(b) वे घर की सफाई कर रहे हैं।
They are cleaning the house.

ये वाक्य Active voice के हैं, इनमें कर्त्ता (Subject) ‘वह ‘ , ‘वे’ , है जो कार्य करते हैं, Active हैं। लेकिन ध्यान दें:

यदि हमें निम्न प्रकार के वाक्य बनाने हैं:
(a) कार ठीक की जा रही है। या कार उसके द्वारा ठीक की जा रही है।
(b) घर की सफाई की जा रही है। या घर की सफाई मजदूरों द्वारा की जा रही है।

ऐसे वाक्य जिनमें कर्त्ता दिखाई नहीं देता है, या कर्त्ता (Subject) की जगह कर्म (Object) प्रमुखता पाता है, ऐसे वाक्यों को समझने एवं ऐसे वाक्यों को अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद करने हेतु हमें Passive Voice के नियमों का अध्ययन होगा।

अब हम Active and Passive Voice के दो वाक्य लिख कर उसमे तुलना करते है जिससे की आपको इसे समझने मे और भी आसानी हो।

1. Parul helps her mother.
2. Her mother is helped by Parul.

अब आप देखेंगे की इन दोनों वाक्यों का अर्थ तो एक ही है पर वाक्य 1. में कर्ता कुछ करता है अर्थात् पारुल कुछ करती है। इसलिए इस वाक्य को कर्तृवाच्य ही कहेंगे पर वाक्य 2. मे क्रिया की अवस्था यह बताती है की कर्ता के लिए कुछ किया गया है। माता के लिए कुछ किया गया है। इसलिए क्रिया helped को Passive Voice अर्थात् कर्मवाच्य कहेंगे।

संक्षेप मे जब कर्ता कार्य करता है तो कर्तृवाच्य होता है पर जब कर्ता के लिए कुछ किया जाता है तो उसे कर्मवाच्य कहते है। अब हम इन्ही वाक्यो को कालों यानी की Tense के क्रमानुसार देखेंगे।

Note :- Present Perfect Continuous Tense, Past Perfect Continuous Tense, Future Continuous Tense और Future Perfect Continuous Tense का Passive Voice नहीं होता।

➪ Has Have Had का प्रयोग सीखें

Present Indefinite Tense
इस वर्तमान काल के उपभाग में Passive Voice (कर्मवाच्य) बनाने के लिए कर्म (Object) को कर्ता (Subject) मे बदल दिया जाता है। दुसरी बात है कर्ता के अनुसार is, am, are लगा कर verb क्रिया की तीसरी अवस्था लगाई जाती है। इसके कुछ उदाहरण नीचे देखे ताकी आपको इसे समझने और भी मे आसानी हो।
